Morocco has a very long tradition of weaving some of the most beautiful carpets in the world. These superb Berber area rug have been woven since the 8th century, when the Berber tribes settled in Morocco. For more than a thousand years, tribal women have hand knotted rug from the wool of the sheep they raise at the top of the Atlas. Even today, the tribes live in the mountains, and the know-how is transmitted from mother to daughter.
